Gadget X: Arc Mobile Tab 701D REVIEW

As we have featured in Manual to Lyf the emergence of another mobile player in the market, Arc Mobile do have a wide array of selections one can choose from from feature phones, smartphones and even tablets. Now we will take a closer look on one of the most affordable tablets in the market by Arc Mobile, The Tab 701D.

This tab is available in the market now for only P3999 pesos which is already android Jellybean version 4.1.1. The 7" Capacitive Multi-touch screen is actually very bright and I would use the lowest setting yet still gives a great clear display. With a simple black design for a tab, it can fit to generic tablet casing in the market.

It currently has 8GB of Internal Memory and External Memory up to 12GB via MicroSD. 

In terms of functions, the tab works smooth with 1.6 GHz Dual Core processor. For apps downloaded from the Play Store, it was able to handle memory and graphic-rich apps like minion rush, Temple Run 2, etc. So far, there has been minimum to zero lag and app failure.

The 3MP back camera + 2 MP front provides basic image capturing, it gives an advantage to the tab which when compared with tabs of the same price range would usually only have one camera. It would be suggested that photo apps should be installed for image optimization and functions. 

Other features of the Tab 701D are HDMI connectivity, USB connection (via special cable), special screen keys for volume adjustment and screen capture.

We give the Arc Mobile Tab 701D a 7.7 rating for the following :

• Affordable yet very functional tablet running on Android Jellybean
• Bright display
• Great app performance, and multitasking
• function buttons for screen capture and volume helps lessen use of physical buttons

Of course there are cons:

• Slow charging and quick battery life
• No Bluetooth for quick sharing
