Michael Macabasag of nonprofit organization World Vision thanks Xiaomi for its donation to create the Xiaomi Powered Room in a public elementary school in Laurel, Batangas.
Recognizing the plight of Philippine public schools that need modernization in learning, global technology leader Xiaomi is making significant strides in transforming local education through its innovative Xiaomi Powered Room advocacy.
Through Xiaomi Powered Rooms, Xiaomi donates its latest smart tech and appliances to underprivileged public schools in the Philippines to foster a more accessible and convenient learning environment — and bridge the digital divide — for students.
Devices and gadgets such as Xiaomi Smart TVs, Xiaomi Mini Projector, Xiaomi Smart Cameras, a Redmi Soundbar, and Xiaomi Standing Fans are given to these schools to transform at least one classroom into a high-tech Xiaomi Powered Room.
As part of its latest efforts and this year’s Brigada Eskwela initiative, Xiaomi, in partnership with non-profit organization World Vision, had recently created a new Xiaomi Powered Room at a public elementary school in the town of Laurel, Batangas last July. In addition to the Xiaomi Powered Room, the brand had also donated essential school supplies for students. This was the latest in Xiaomi’s initiatives to modernize various local public schools since 2022.
“It has always been Xiaomi’s mission to provide innovations for everyone,” said Tomi Adrias, marketing head for Xiaomi Philippines. “There’s never been a more important need for life-changing technology than in our country’s public schools, which is why we hope that the introduction of Xiaomi Powered Rooms can really help our young students learn better and get the chances they need to succeed in life.”Xiaomi's commitment to education is evident in its long-running partnership with World Vision and its consistent participation in Brigada Eskwela. By investing in and democratizing technology for all and supporting community-driven initiatives, Xiaomi is empowering students with the tools they need to succeed — creating a positive impact on communities and fostering a brighter future for Filipino youth.
