Xiaomi Introduces Strategy for Sustainable Development Driven by Foundational Core Technologies

During the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the year's most prominent climate summit, Xiaomi Corporation (“Xiaomi” or the “Group”), a consumer electronics and smart manufacturing company with smartphones and smart hardware connected by an Internet of Things (“IoT”) platform at its core, introduced its strategy for sustainable development driven by its foundational core technologies. The company also showcased the latest advancements in carbon management in its "Human x Car x Home" smart ecosystem – another strategic upgrade for Xiaomi in climate governance.

In a speech at the China Pavilion of the Conference here, Alain Lam Sai-wai, Vice President and CFO of the Group, and Chairman of Airstar Digital Technology, provided an in-depth analysis of Xiaomi's latest strategy for sustainable development driven by Xiaomi's foundational core technologies. He stated that Xiaomi’s goals are to make AI accessible to everyone, pursue sustainable development across its ecosystem, and take responsibility for its foundational core technologies. Xiaomi is committed to its "Human x Car x Home" smart ecosystem strategy, which aims to provide consumers with a sustainable, smart lifestyle via its foundational core technologies and AI innovation. He said: “Through smart manufacturing, AI innovation, and new retail models in our smart ecosystem, Xiaomi has not only enhanced its operational efficiencies and economies of scale in production but also enhanced the integration and efficiency of its supply chain, effectively optimizing resource utilization and energy consumption ratios.”
