(03 September 2026, Quezon City) The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) produced flood extent maps showing flooded areas in parts of Regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, CAR, and NCR on 31 August at 05:45 AM PhST following heavy rains brought by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). The maps show flood extents on Monday morning after continued heavy rains last week. The flooded areas were detected with the aid of Artificial Intelligence (AI) using a composite of three Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite imagery. Please note that the maps show a snapshot of the flood extents at the specific time the image was captured by the satellite and may not reflect floods that have already receded.
