With almost a year of waiting after its announcement in February 2013, Filipino Playstation fans can finally say that the PS4 is now officially here!
Held at the Glorietta Activity Center, the event was the first public appearance of the awaited console which is even ahead of Japan which will have their launch by February. The PS4 has also been very successful with sales against competitor Nintendo Wii U and rival Microsoft Xbox One. Running on a new operating system called "Orbis OS" which replaces the XrossMediaBar and is at its optimal state when connected to the internet. Announced in the 2014 CES that it will have a feature called the "Playstation Now" which is a cloud-based gaming service.
The PS4 is available for P24,999, a bundle with the PS Camera costs P26,999.
Managing Director for Sony Philippines, Mr. Yasushi Asaoka led the unveiling with excited fans who have pre-ordered or bought a unit on the spot. The opening day was hosted by DJs Riki Flow and Gino Quillamor. Celebrities also joined in playing games like Rayver Cruz and Enchong Dee. Other Playstation consoles and accessories were also available on display like the PS Vita 2000 and the HMZ-T3 Personal 3D Viewer.
Now that the PS4 has landed, we are just curious when will we have the PSN (Playstation Network) here?
