SAMSUNG announces the winners of the Galaxy S9 & S9+ #SamsungSOTD Challenge

Samsung congratulates Jonathan Carino for winning the grand prize of the Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+’s Super Slow-Mo of the Day (#SamsungSOTD) Challenge. He will enjoy a 9-day trip for two to Iceland, inclusive of roundtrip business class flight tickets, accommodation in a 5-star hotel, among other exciting perks. Ten other lucky finalists will also take home a Samsung 55” Smart UHD TV.

Carino recorded his winning entry on a summer trip with his friends to Calaguas Island. One evening, they saw performers spinning blazing metal cubes at a beachside event. Captivated by their death-defying stunts, Carino thought of testing the super slow-mo capabilities of the Galaxy S9. The reimagined camera did not disappoint.

“I was only thinking of uploading this video on my Instagram account,” he says. “When I saw the promo for the #SamsungSOTD Challenge, I decided to enter the competition.”

This prestigious vacation will be Carino’s first trip abroad. “Up until now, I still can’t believe that I won the grand prize. I’m so excited to capture more breathtaking sights in Iceland with my Galaxy S9.”

The Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+’s Dual Aperture feature allows you to take clear photos in low and bright light conditions like the human eye. Its Super Slow-Mo feature enables you to record videos of up to 960 frames per second. With the Galaxy S9 & S9+’s reimagined camera, Carino will be able to capture the picture-perfect wonders of the Land of Fire and Ice.

You may access the full list of winners and their entries here.
