UST Teletigers crowned the first-ever champion of Jobstreet by SEEK ‘Level Up Esports Tournament’

The Teletigers Esports Club from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) claimed victory in the inaugural Jobstreet by SEEK Level Up Esports Tournament, sweeping the Mapúa Cardinals of Mapúa University 2-0 in the best-of-three grand finals.

The Teletigers showed dominance throughout the tournament, securing their playoff spot with a win over the UP Oblation Esports Team and advancing to the semi-finals where they beat the UE Zenith Esports.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals punched their ticket to the finals by defeating the PUP Pylon Esports team in their semifinal matchup.

In Game 1 of the grand finals, the Teletigers and Cardinals battled in a tight match. The game was tied at 12-12 but Teletigers gained the upper hand in the overtime, closing the face-off 15-13 to take a 1-0 series lead.

Game 2 started with the Cardinals gaining a four-point advantage. However, the Teletigers quickly adjusted their strategy, outplaying the Cardinals in the late game rounds. The Teletigers closed out the series with a 13-9 victory, completing the sweep and claiming the championship.

UST Teletigers victory earned them a cash prize of PHP 25,000 and JobStreet by SEEK merchandise.

The tournament featured some of the top collegiate esports teams in Metro Manila, including UP Oblation Esports Team, UE Zenith Esports, Tams FX of Far Eastern University, NU Wizards Circle of National University, UMAK Fortem Ardeas Esports from the University of Makati, and Pylon Esports from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. The event highlighted the growing competitiveness and talent within the country’s collegiate esports scene.

Beyond the competition, the Jobstreet by SEEK ‘Level Up Esports Tournament’ also served as a platform to connect young professionals with career opportunities. JobStreet, in partnership with EastWest Bank, showcased how gaming skills can translate into real-world success, further cementing its commitment to empowering the youth.
