Globe continues to improve mobile data consistency score for three straight quarters in 2021

Globe maintained its upward streak as it continued to improve its mobile consistency score for three straight quarters this year amid its relentless campaign to deliver first-world connectivity to Filipinos.

Based on the third quarter analysis by Ookla® of Speedtest Intelligence® data in the Philippines, Globe received a nationwide consistency score of 76.64 compared to 75.98 in the second quarter and 70.43 in the first three months of 2021. Even in the fourth quarter of last year, Globe’s score increased to 60.82 from 56.83 in the previous quarter*.

Mobile consistency score is determined by the number of tests taken that are above a certain speed threshold. The higher the figures, the more likely for consumers to enjoy acceptable internet performance and quality.

“Our network improvements and use of higher technologies like 5G will continue so we can deliver a better service experience for our customers.  More than this, we are spearheading several initiatives to uplift the lives of our fellow Filipinos through digital technologies,” said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO.

This year, Globe hiked its capital expenditures to an unprecedented P76 billion to deliver a #1stWorldNetwork. The bulk of the budget is allocated for data network expansion nationwide, particularly of its 5G network. It has raised its 5G outdoor coverage in the National Capital Region to 95 percent and is already present in over 1,800 locations in the country.

Globe has also installed one million fiber-to-the-home lines as of end-September, constructed 641 new cell towers, and upgraded 8,175 sites to 4G LTE as of end-June.

Globe strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 9, which highlights the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development. Globe is committed to upholding the UN Global Compact principles and contributes to 10 UN SDGs.
