Fujitsu acquires Thailand-based SAP consultancy Innovation Consulting Services, underpinning M&A growth strategy and accelerating SAP capabilities in Asia Pacific

Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Thailand Limited today announced the acquisition of Thailand-based SAP consultancy Innovation Consulting Services (ICS). The acquisition strengthens Fujitsu’s capabilities in SAP consulting and managed services across the Asia Pacific region. This marks the 7th acquisition by Fujitsu Limited since 2021, as part of its programmatic M&A strategy to realise its ambition of becoming a global leader in Digital Transformation.

Founded in 2002, ICS will directly support Fujitsu’s portfolio transformation and will bolster future offerings for “Business Applications,” one of seven Key Focus Areas (KFAs) under Fujitsu’s global Uvance portfolio. The acquisition will further strengthen Fujitsu’s SAP capabilities in the Uvance cross-industry vertical areas of Sustainable Manufacturing, Consumer Experience, Trusted Society, and Healthy Living.

Fujitsu and Hexagon digital twin tech aids predictive disaster and traffic safety management

Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division and Fujitsu Limited today announced the joint development of digital twin applications for predicting and mitigating natural disasters and traffic accidents. The solutions reflect the two companies’ ongoing efforts to realize resilient, disaster-resistant cities based on a business alliance formed in June 2022.  

To support disaster mitigation, the two companies are developing a prediction model that calculates the extent and impact of flooding from precipitation data, visualizes the extent of flooding and performs damage prediction analysis. Based on the analysis, cities can develop disaster response plans.

Securing Healthcare Data Amid COVID-19

Amid the current pandemic, there has been an increase in cyberattacks targeting hospitals and healthcare facilities as cybercriminals attempt to take advantage of the global health crisis to steal data or spread dangerous malware. 

The World Health Organization (WHO), for instance, has noted that since the onset of the current pandemic, it has seen a dramatic increase in the number of cyberattacks directed at its staff, as well as e-mail scams targeting the public at large. The attacks are five times more than the number recorded in the same period last year.[1]
