Globe announces more areas in Metro Manila as 5G ready

Taguig, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Paran͂aque, Muntinlupa, Las Pin͂as, Valenzuela, and Caloocan

Following its initial roll out of its 5G network in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Makati CBD, Rockwell Center, Ortigas CBD, and strategic areas along EDSA and C5, Globe boosts its 5G service in more key areas in Metro Manila.  These new 5G ready cities include Taguig, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Paranaque, Muntinlupa, Las Pin͂as, Valenzuela, and Caloocan.

“We’re firing up our 5G within these cities’ select vicinities which are residential areas and centers of daily commerce. The deployment of Globe’s 5G is strategic as we’re targeting those main nerve centers that in the very near future would benefit greatly from the transformative power of better and faster connectivity,” said Coco Domingo, Globe VP for Strategic Platforms and Partnerships.

As the first telco provider to roll out 5G for home in Southeast Asia, Globe has also deployed 5G capable handsets for its Prepaid and TM customers in key areas in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Makati CBD, Rockwell Center, Ortigas CBD, and other key locations along EDSA and C5. In a country with a broad prepaid market, Globe aims to empower a truly digital nation that is ready to recover from the post pandemic impact.

The 5G SIMs are available across all Globe stores, the online shop, and official dealers and resellers. For more information, visit the website at https://www.globe.com.ph/5g.

Globe has also rolled out its suite of 5G-ready devices – from the affordable to high-end range – bundled with a postpaid plan to ensure that all Filipinos can enjoy the power of 5G. Upgrading to a 5G phone is made easier and affordable with Globe Postpaid’s selection of the latest 5G phones that can be availed at much lower prices with ThePLAN. The introductory price and discounts applied to these mobile phones are available until September 30, 2020 via Globe’s online shop and stores nationwide. These 5G enabled phones can already connect to the 5G network, without any additional charges.

For those who are still using 3G SIMs, Globe also urges them to switch to 4G SIMs. Those who are still using 2G/3G SIM may bring their SIMs to the nearest Globe Stores to upgrade to 4G SIM for free. Postpaid Mobile customers can request to have their SIMs changed via the GlobeOne App.
