Process and Automation Engineers for Service Operations Jennifer Dela Cruz and Seth Munar introduce DAISI to DevCon 2025 participants

At this year’s Globe Developers Conference (DevCon) 2025, the spotlight turned to how technology can make work simpler and more intuitive for every Ka-Globe. The Information Services Group (ISG) introduced DAISI, or Digital Assistant for IT Services and Inquiries, an AI-powered chatbot designed to help employees resolve common login issues in real time and inquire about IT Service requests.

DAISI was built to transform how employees interact with IT systems. As the number of tools and platforms continues to grow, the Automation Team recognized the need for a faster, more personal way to handle common support tasks. DAISI lets users check the status of their ServiceNow tickets, troubleshoot login problems, and ask immediate information about the top service requests directly through Google Chat. ServiceNow is Globe’s enterprise IT service management platform, used across the organization to track requests, incidents, and system updates.

Globe One App Now Features Direct Link to Kaagapay Donations Portal

Globe has further strengthened its commitment to digital inclusion and social good by integrating the Kaagapay Donations Portal into the Globe One app. Reflecting Alagang Globe in action, the new feature allows users to seamlessly access the web-based portal, making it easier to extend support directly to accredited social welfare and development agencies (SWDAs), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) disaster relief operations, and DSWD Centers and Residential Care Facilities through cash and in-kind donations.

Through the Kaagapay Donations Portal, donors can contribute to non-stock, non-profit organizations that deliver essential services to vulnerable groups including children and youth, the elderly, persons with disabilities, women, and communities affected by calamities. The portal currently connects donors to over 900 accredited SWDAs nationwide, each playing a vital role in providing social services such as child care, elderly assistance, rehabilitation, livelihood, and community development programs.

Globe conducts successful trials of Free Space Optics across Laguna Lake, advancing Wireless Optical Transport

Breakthrough of 11 km aerial link successfully demonstrated with the high-speed connectivity over water using light-based wireless technology

Globe, with its subsidiary Fiber Infrastructure and Network Services Inc. (FINSI) and in partnership with Google X: TAARA, has successfully completed a groundbreaking field trial of a long-range Free Space Optics (FSO) technology, achieving 10Gbps, wireless optical connectivity over an 11-kilometer aerial distance across Laguna Lake, with 80% of the link spanning over open water.

The pilot showcases the potential of free space optics to revolutionize wireless transport through laser-based communications that do not require fiber or licensed spectrum, using a microwave system.

Globe and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a stronger, more integrated framework to curb fraud, scams, and other ICT-enabled crimes.

The partnership formalizes a Collaborative Framework for Fraud Prevention and Investigation, ensuring closer cooperation between Globe and DICT, along with its attached agencies, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC). This initiative supports government and industry-wide efforts to safeguard Filipinos from identity theft, phishing, SMS scams, and other fraudulent activities that have proliferated in the digital space.
