Brother Philippines supports virtual Relay For Life 2020

Despite a global pandemic that has put many events and occasions on hold, Brother International Philippines Corporation (BICP) and Brother Industries Philippines, Inc. pushed through in its annual support for this year’s Relay For Life, a global movement to support and raise funds for cancer patients around the world by walking or running around a track.

Due to the pandemic, this year’s Relay For Life was held virtually on the Philippine Cancer Society’s Facebook page last August 22.

Meanwhile, a donation ceremony was also held via video conferencing last September 25, which was attended by BICP President Glenn Hocson, Product Management Group Manager Shinichi Tanaka, associates Elben Arcilla, Kyle Tabalan, Kristine Soriano, Jana Macabia, and Brother Industries Philippines, Inc. (BIPH) employees.

“Even though we may be affected by the challenges we’re all going through right now, we at Brother Philippines are happy to continue to find ways to support our worthwhile causes such as Relay For Life,” said Hocson.

BICP’s support for Relay For Life, which is going on its ninth year, is part of the Brother Group’s Golden Ring Project, which promotes and supports initiatives and charity events to support the fight against cancer. It does this by conducting social contribution activities with its employees to build a sense of unity among Brother facilities around the world.
