Globe has bagged the 2024 ASEAN Innovation Business Platform (AIBP) Enterprise Innovation Award in the Data and AI category, becoming one of only two winners from the Philippines.
Globe’s entry, the Next Best Offer (NBO) solution, an AI-powered machine learning engine, stood out among numerous submissions. Developed in-house by the company’s analytics team, NBO has revolutionized personalized marketing by leveraging cutting-edge technology.
This AI-driven innovation utilizes reinforcement learning to analyze hundreds of customer behavior attributes. By processing these attributes, NBO tailors marketing messages and offers to suit individual customer needs in real time, maximizing the relevance of each interaction.
The platform has already delivered exceptional results, underscoring Globe's leadership in the Philippines’ telco sector. It has increased efficiency by 304% compared to traditional methods in retention campaigns, while upsell campaigns saw a 317% increase in offer acceptance rates.
“This award underscores Globe's dedication to harnessing advanced technology to serve our customers better. The NBO platform allows us to offer timely and relevant content, ensuring that we stay responsive to the changing needs of our subscribers. We remain committed to innovating and leading in the digital space, particularly how we engage with our customers,” said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO.
Globe’s success at AIBP demonstrates the company’s forward-thinking approach to customer-centric digital transformation. With a market capitalization of US$5.3billion and over 59.5 million mobile subscribers across the Philippines, Globe is setting the standard for innovation in the local telecom industry.
The AIBP Enterprise Innovation Awards is an annual event that recognizes Southeast Asian organizations for their groundbreaking projects in digital transformation. This year, the competition saw 113 submissions from both public and private sectors across Southeast Asia, with 56 projects shortlisted as finalists.
More than 40% of the submissions featured AI or machine learning components, reflecting the increasing role these technologies play in business. The rise of generative AI, in particular, has sparked discussions about the potential applications and benefits of AI in various industries across the region.
The awards ceremonies took place at the AIBP Conference and Exhibition at the City of Dreams Manila. Supported by the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the conference highlighted significant progress in the country’s digital landscape while tackling the challenges local enterprises and public service organizations encounter in embracing digital transformation.
