Globe, Google PH collaborate to provide 39,000 certified courses for digital upskilling

Taking its investments in education further, Globe has partnered with Google Philippines to provide 39,000 scholarships on advanced IT certificate courses to equip low-income students and jobseekers with job-ready skills.

Under the collaboration, Globe and several government stakeholders will invite qualified recipients for the Google Career Certificates program and track their progress.

Google Career Certificates provide a suite of flexible online training programs spanning three to six months available at Coursera.org. It is open to everyone 18 years old and above and requires no previous degree or experience. There are four certificate options including IT Support, UX Design, Data Analytics, and Project Management.

Philippine Tech Community Website Launched

The rise in the number of tech communities in the Philippines dates back in the early days of the WWW in the Philippines (circa 1995). From mailing lists to BBS (Bulletin Board System), which later evolved into online forums, tech communities in the country began conducting mini-EBs (Eye Balls or what we know now as meetups) to give faces behind the (user)names online.

Join the Doodle 4 Google Philippines 2014!

If you are quite interested on the colorful, smart, imaginative google doodles that appear on special occasions recognized by google, now there is a chance for you to be submit and be featured in the next google doodle for the Philippines. Open to students of the Phlippines, the competition has the theme "What can I do for the Philippines?". To submit, you have to first download the template. Submission deadline is until September 19. 2014.
