Globe says mobile download and upload speeds in 127 areas much improved in Q2 2023

Globe has achieved marked improvement in mobile data download and upload speeds in 127 areas across the Philippines in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter. These include remote areas in the country, bringing better data browsing experience and digital inclusion to more customers.

This achievement affirms the company's commitment to delivering superior connectivity, opening new opportunities for growth and development across the archipelago.

PLDT drives PH’s rise in broadband internet speeds ranking in Southeast Asia

The Philippines’ rank in the Ookla Speedtest Global Index has risen one notch to fourth place, following closely behind Malaysia and besting Vietnam and other peers in Southeast Asia. 

The country’s largest integrated telco network PLDT continues to drive this development as it expands it fiber network, contributing to the consistent improvement of the Philippines in the rankings.

Converge is the most consistent fixed internet in serviceable regions in Q2 of 2021

Ookla®, the global leader in internet testing and analysis, recently verified Converge ICT Solutions Inc. as the most consistent fixed internet provider* in six regions, including Metro Manila, based on the recent Ookla Speedtest Intelligence® analysis for the second quarter of the year. The other regions with consistent Converge internet connectivity are Calabarzon (Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon), Ilocos, Central Luzon, Bicol and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Converge garnered a consistency score of 79.46%*. This score measures the percentage of a provider’s samples that equals or exceeds a fixed threshold of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload.

PH continues to rise in global Speedtest rankings Ookla® June 2021 data

The Philippines continues to rise up the global speed rankings, being among the top 100 globally in both mobile and fixed download speeds, based on Ookla’s Speedtest® Global Index* June 2021 data.

The country is currently at the 75th spot in the world on mobile, climbing 2 notches with an average mobile download speed of 32.84 Mbps. This, likewise, is the 11th month the country has shown consistently improving average mobile download speeds.

For fixed, the country rose 3 spots to 62nd place, with an average fixed download speed of 66.55 Mbps and an average fixed upload speed of 66.86 Mbps.
