New PLDT Home Fiber Plans now with 2x more speeds at the same price

What would you do if you have more speed to power your digital lifestyle? What if you could have the opportunity to experience up to twice the speed you’re getting now? That can be a reality now as PLDT Home rolls out the biggest speed upgrade with the newest Fiber Plans this February.

Faster Fiber Plans Yet

The new PLDT Home Fiber Unli Plans are double the previous speed offers and can now reach up to 600 Mbps for as low as P2699 monthly.

What’s more, all these new Home Fiber plans get faster speeds with the same price as previous plans. Now, that’s a treat especially for the new subscribers. Meanwhile, existing subscribers will need not apply for any plan upgrade to get the same faster speeds as they will automatically get the new Fiber plan speeds starting this month.

PLDT speeds up network migration for Home Ultera

The Philippines’ largest, fully integrated telco provider PLDT Inc. announces completion of its initiatives to transform its legacy fixed wireless service called Home Ultera, into better and faster fixed wired and wireless service.

PLDT will complete the scheduled decommissioning of about 185 telecom towers by end-July 2022, that provide Time-Division Duplex Long-Term Evolution or TD-LTE coverage to Home Ultera.

This means that over 3,000 subscribers of Home Ultera who are eligible for service migration, will have the option to either move to higher speed fixed fiber plans, or to a postpaid wireless service for the home at no additional cost, and for better customer experience.

Converge’s Q4 2021 score also showed improvement from the same year’s Q1 score of 72.75 to 82.2% consistency score, measuring the percentage of a provider’s samples that equals or exceeds a fixed threshold of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload.

Road to Fiber: Globe At Home migrating customers to fiber by 2022

Globe At Home expects to migrate all its broadband customers to the latest fiber technology by 2022, as part of its #1stWorldNetwork commitment to deliver a better internet experience.

Globe At Home has been moving its broadband customers from DSL and LTE to fiber for free for over a year now and is on track to complete the process.  As of October, migration has already jumped by more than 250%, exceeding the 2021 target. Globe aims to install at least 1.4 million FTTH lines this year.

"By 2022, all of our customers will be able to enjoy fast fiber technology capable of handling the present and future needs of the household.  We will continue to guide them for an easy and smooth transition," said Barbie Dapul, Globe At Home Vice President for Marketing.

Globe At Home customers on fiber can enjoy maximum speeds of up to 1Gbps. This means they can enjoy more seamless HD video calls during work meetings or virtual classes, or even lag-free gaming, through faster upload and download speeds.  Fiber allows more members at home to enjoy the internet together with a more reliable internet connection.
