HOOQ and Globe LIVE debuts HOOQ Hangouts

HOOQ, Asia’s first and largest video-on-demand service, partners with Globe LIVE to bring to Filipinos HOOQ Hangouts, the biggest outdoor cinema event in the Phiippines. Powered by Globe LIVE, the telco’s new original productions arm, the premiere of HOOQ Hangouts featured the Hollywood TV hit, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow which will also be available exclusively on HOOQ.

HOOQ Hangouts, also brought to you in cooperation with Samsung, turns the BGC Amphitheater into a free outdoor cinema venue with massive LED screens, beanbags, blankets and cushions to fully enjoy the show.

HOOQ named best mobile app in GLOMO Awards in Barcelona

HOOQ, Asia’s largest video-on-demand service has just been named Best Mobile App in the Media, Film, TV or Video category at the Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards 2016 in Barcelona.

HOOQ customers have been indulging in a diverse and expansive selection of over 35,000 hours of movies and TV series with hot favorites and award-winning series such as Gotham, The Flash, Mad Men, Ash vs Evil Dead, Nashville and awesome blockbusters, Spider-Man, Kill Bill and Harry Potter.

The GLOMO Awards highlights the greatest achievements and innovations across the mobile industry and include more than 40 awards over eight categories. The awards showcase the very best and most compelling apps in the field of multimedia; those that are primarily innovative but also driving eyeballs and audiences from the fixed screen to the mobile screen. The other nominees for the category included; Fjord & Vocento S.A. for ABC mobile web; Magisto for Magisto Video Editor & Mak; Netgem for EETV; and PTCL for PTCL Smart TV App.

Netflix Is (Almost) Everywhere, Also Here In The Philippines!

It has been announced and rolled out today that Netflix, America's largest video streaming service is now available in more than 130 countries as announced at CES 2016. The availability of Netflix has been long awaited and new video streaming companies like iFlix and HOOQ came into play.

HOOQ Debuts in the Philippines via Globe Telecom

Filipinos first in Asia to get access to extensive Hollywood and local content with Globe Telecom and HOOQ: Asia's first video-on-demand service HOOQ has arrived in the Philippines, making Filipinos the first in the region to gain access to a library of over 10,000 international and local movies and TV shows with its partnership with leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom. 

A start-up joint venture between Singtel, Sony Pictures Television, and Warner Bros. Entertainment, HOOQ is set to change the way people in emerging markets consume and enjoy entertainment by allowing customers to enjoy online streaming access and an offline viewing option of movies and TV shows across smartphones, computers, and tablets.
