Globe At Home cements Netflix speed index dominance for 10 straight months

Leading digital solutions platform Globe once more emerged in the driver’s seat after scoring the fastest internet speeds through its Globe at Home Broadband Business in October. This cements its dominance in the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) performance rating of subscription-based streaming service Netflix in the Philippines.

Globe at Home topped the October 2022 Netflix ISP Speed Index with a score of 3.6 Mbps, a boost of 0.2 Mbps from its 3.4 Mbps result in September.

“Topping Netflix ISP Speed Index anew is proof of our commitment to providing the best internet services to our customers. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions,” said Janis Legaspi-Racpan, Head of Globe At Home Brand Management.

Globe At Home tops Netflix ISP Speed Index in September; 8th time in 2021

Experience the fastest in Netflix streaming

Globe again topped the Netflix ISP Speed Index in September, the eighth month this year, leading Philippine Internet Service Providers (ISPs) performance rating of the popular streaming service. Globe scored 3.4 Mbps in the Index for the month through its Globe At Home Broadband Business, higher than its 3.2 Mbps result in August. This score indicates that the Philippines is at par with other countries and regions which are experiencing world-class speeds on Netflix like Canada, Finland and South Korea.

Globe At Home takes top spot on Netflix’s internet speed index for 3rd time

Globe At Home, Globe’s broadband business unit, claimed the top spot of the Netflix ISP Speed Index in April 2021,  the third time this year. Besting competition in January and February, the network has been exhausting efforts to deliver in its speed performance since the start of the year.

Globe constantly strives to provide the best experience for its customers and innovates to make sure that its products and services are relevant to the digital lifestyle altered by this pandemic.

Globe recently disclosed that as of March 2021, it has exceeded its targeted network site builds with 318 cell sites as well as 287,000 high-speed broadband lines installed nationwide.

In addition, the home broadband segment drove an all-time high performance for Q1 2021. The segment saw an 81% growth on home broadband subscribers to date, surpassing the four million mark.

It has been announced and rolled out today that Netflix, America's largest video streaming service is now available in more than 130 countries as announced at CES 2016. The availability of Netflix has been long awaited and new video streaming companies like iFlix and HOOQ came into play.
