Eastern Communications Achieves Increased Revenue, Furthers Mindanao Expansion in 2025

According to the latest e-Conomy SEA report by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company, the Philippines recorded the fastest-growing internet economy among six Southeast Asian nations in 2024. Driven largely by the rising e-commerce sector, the country’s digital economy surged by 20%, with its gross merchandise value (GMV) rising from $26 billion in 2023 to $31 billion in 2024.

Globe expands 5G access in Visayas, Mindanao with fresh builds

Explores life-enabling applications across sectors

Globe installed 41 more 5G sites across Visayas and Mindanao in 2023 in line with its strategic rollout of the technology, as it continues to test for certain applications that will enable Filipinos across social classes.

Globe added 27 more sites in Visayas and 14 new ones in Mindanao last year, as part of its broader initiative to enhance digital connectivity in the areas of health, education, finance, and entertainment.

Visayas, a vibrant and culturally rich region in the heart of the Philippines, is known for its vital contributions to the country's economy through its robust industry and services sector.

Globe expands 5G coverage in 17 cities in NCR, Visayas & Mindanao


Keeping true to its promise of bringing the latest technology to other parts of the country, Globe has expanded its 5G coverage to 17 key cities in Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao.

The company is accelerating upgrades of its existing technology to improve further the connectivity, mobile experience, and unlock vast potentials for its customers as 5G technology in Bacolod, Boracay, Iloilo, Talisay, Lapu-Lapu, Cordova, Minglanilla  and Cebu City in Visayas; and in Davao City and Cagayan De Oro in Mindanao becomes available.
