Sony CEO reveals the ‘Corporate Strategy’ towards innovation

Sony’s purpose or reason for existing, is to "fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology.” And until now, Sony banks on this notion as they continue their contribution to the society through initiatives that will lead towards innovation.

Because of this vision and the desire of the community to consume entertainment, Sony has currently directly connected to about 160 million people in the world, but still, Sony Corporation CEO, Kenichiro Yoshida wants to continue this and expand its connection to up to 1 billion people.

Rubrik Appoints Kamal Brar as Vice President of Asia Pacific & Japan

Rubrik, the Multi-Cloud Data Control™ Company, today announced the appointment of Kamal Brar as Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan. Brar will be responsible for driving Rubrik’s Asia operations. Based in Singapore, he will report directly to Chief Revenue Officer Brett Shirk.

“Kamal has successfully led some of the most disruptive technology companies across Asia Pacific and we’re excited to have him join Rubrik,” said Brett Shirk, Chief Revenue Officer at Rubrik. “His passion for software and building high-performance teams will drive short and long term success as he scales our business in the region.”

Rubrik has quickly grown from its founding in 2014; earlier this year it raised a $261 million Series E funding round at a $3.3 billion valuation. As data and applications proliferate in the enterprise, Rubrik’s unified platform is uniquely positioned to provide customers with the ability to secure and control their data wherever it resides.

Diwata-2 Is Now In Space! More Satellites to Come?

As part of the PHL-MICROSAT Program, Diwata-2 has now been launched recently into space via the H-IIA rocket from Japan launched at the Tanegashima Space Center around lunch time in the Philippines of October 28. Diwata-1 was already launched back in 2016 and this second microsatelite made by Filipino scientists.

This is another milestone for Philippine space exploration and technology as we are now making our own space equipment for research and development. Diwata-2 was developed by 11 scholars under the Philippine Department of Science and Technology (DOST), in cooperation with the Tohoku University and Hokkaido University in contrast to 9 DOST scholars who worked with Diwata-1, Diwata-2's predecessor.

Augmented Reality A Growing Market In The Philippines

Pinoy smartphones users and netizens has something to look forward for with an introduction in the country of a new technology that is becoming a hit worldwide.

Innovative media enhancement technology “Augmented Reality” or simply “AR,” which integrates digital information into a real environment in real time, is now available in the Philippines.

This was announced by the executive of Spark Global Tech Systems, Inc., the exclusive partner of AR-based technology in the Philippines that is under license from Toppan, a 115-year-old company and is one of the largest global printing companies in Japan.

Augmented Reality is a technology used to superimpose virtual images onto photos taken by a smartphone in real time. Compared to an earlier technology called “virtual reality,” which is more of creating an artificial environment, AR utilizes an existing environment and “superimposes” new information on top of it.
